Last Ditch Fight To Save Local Post Office From Closure!

12.00.00am GMT Tue 10th Feb 2004

Regency Liberal Democrats have stepped up their campaign to save the Hampton Place Post Office from closure.

As part of the campaign local Liberal Democrats have collected hundreds of signatures from local residents who oppose the closure of 19 Post Offices in the City. Local residents are up in arms that their local post offices are being closed and that these plans are supported by the Labour Government. Under Tony Blair's Labour Government one third of Post Offices are due to close. When the Conservatives were in power 4,000 local Post Offices closed. The Lib Dems are fighting on behalf of local people to keep our local Post Offices open.

Councillor Dawn Davidson and Kevin Donnelly are continuing their petition in a last ditch attempt to reverse the decision, already 100s of residents have backed their fight.
