Liberal Democrat Councillors from Hove have welcomed confirmation that the town's main Library has been secured in its present building and that long awaited disabled access improvements will at last be made.

Lib Dem Group Leader, Paul Elgood commented: 'The future of Hove Library at its present site has been secured. That is very welcome and reflects the views of the vast majority of residents who wanted to see the current building retained.

'It is also good news that work will start on making the building more disabled friendly, at long last.

'The large public campaign to retain the site has been a massive success.'

Over many years, Lib Dem councillors pressed for this action to be undertaken. They also campaigned for the present site to be retained.
