Brunswick & Adelaide Councillors are backing the city council's decision to convert a £275,000 loan made to Hove's Old Market Trust in 1998 into a grant.

As a result the Old Market Trust will be launching its appeal in April of this year with a special concert and a Royal Visit. The aim of the appeal is to be take the venue forward, to increase the range and quality amenities for audiences and community users.

Cllr Paul Elgood, leader of the authority's Liberal Democrat group and ward councillor for Brunswick and Adelaide said, "This is an important venue for the Brunswick area in particular, but for Hove generally and the city as a whole and I am keen to see it provide more for local communities as it develops and builds relationships."
