Liberal Democrat ward Councillors in Brunswick & Adelaide have highlighted concerns by residents over the removal of two heritage-style bus shelters in Palmeira Square.

Ward Councillor Paul Elgood, who intervened to halt the work in the middle of the dispute commented:

'The Council literally took a sledge hammer to the shelters which was a terrible waste of resources. At the very minimum they should have been taken away carefully and re-used elsewhere. Its a tremendous waste of money to treat the City's resources in this way.

'We are now asking residents their views on whether the shelters should be re-instated.'
