Smart TV

Smart TV

Welcome back folks.  Today I’m back with another topic in the world of entertainment.  As you may have read last time you’ll know that I’ve been extending my living area somewhat to make way for an indoor/outdoor bar are for guests and friends.  Everything’s pretty much complete now: the bar’s all in and stocked, seating and lighting has been completed music and speakers are all set up and strategically placed and the chill out areas are ready along with the two special ‘extra comfy’ sofas that took an age to eventually source.

The only thing that’s missing now is the big screen, which I’m hoping to set up to show the big sporting events like football, golf, cricket, Formula 1, the Moto GP, UFC, MMA and other big international games.  The screen isn’t really an issue as I’ve got a pretty decent sized Samsung LED TV which is ample for the for the place I’ve got in mind to put it, which will be the next tricky job.

Smart TV - Kodi

The main job in the interim is getting a Smart TV.  When I say ‘getting’ I mean I’ve already ‘got’ the TV I just have to make is Smart.  It’s not too complicated to be honest I’ve just got to get a decent quality TV box and get it setup with a fantastic little piece of entertainment software called Kodi.  I could you use the ever popular and highly reliable Apple TV but they’re somewhat restricted, so I’ll keep it simple and let Kodi do the rest of the work.  Once Kodi is installed and configured, it’s a case of sitting back and browsing through thousands upon thousands of movies, documentaries, music channels, sports, the latest TV series and generally fighting over the remote in the bar.  I’ll keep you posted of course but it should be up and running in a couple of days.  Anyway, thanks for dropping by folks, until next time..
